1. Basic Package: BBAS.ID and BBAS.Convert

Price: $4,000

A. Basic Version of BBAS.ID

  • Reads and displays data files in our openly documented digitized data file format (the WDS format)
  • Supports marking and editing of miscellaneous points of interest in a channel of data
  • Supports detection and editing of Blink events in EOG data
Data derived from the blinks includes Closing Duration, Blink Amplitude, and Closure Duration.
  • Supports detection and editing of Amplitude Change, Stimulus, and Response events (represented as square wave amplitude changes)
  • Detection of supported event types is user customizable by altering detection criteria.

B. BBAS.Convert

  • Digitized Data File Conversion Utility
  • Reads digitized data files in the following formats:
    • AcqKnowledge format (version 3.8.1) for PC's with Windows from BIOPAC Systems, Inc.
    • CODAS Data Storage Format from Dataq Instruments, Inc.
    • ColumnarText: Textual (ASCII) data in A/D Converter Units formatted with one column per channel of data. Supports Comma Separated Values (CSV) text files
    • ReverseColumnarText: Textual (ASCII) data in A/D Converter Units formatted to conserve file space by leaving out missing data points on some channels. Please contact us if you need further information about this text file format.
    • Our openly documented digitized data file format (the WDS format)
  • Outputs files in the following formats:
    • WDS format
    • Columnar Text format
    • Floating Point CSV format
  • Allows interactive selection of channels from the input data file to be included in the output file
  • Allows interactive selection of the time period within the original input data file that will be included in the output file
  • Allows "re-sampling" of the data at a different sampling interval than the input data file.
If any time point to be re-sampled does not correspond to a sampled time point in the input data file, the user can select whether the value to be placed in the output file for the re-sample time point is to be determined using
    • linear interpolation: in which the value output for the re-sample time is computed using a linear interpolation between the samples in the input file that surround the re-sample time
    • sample and hold or stair step sampling in which the value output for the re-sample time is the most recent actual sample that is in the input file
  • If Floating Point CSV format is chosen for the output file format, then the user can specify a linear transformation to be performed on the data before writing the output file. This allows the user to convert the data from the A/D units in which it is stored in the digitized data file to "Engineering" units like Voltages, Millimeters, Degrees, etc. provided that the user knows the correct transformation coefficients. Some standard transformation coefficients for converting A/D units to Voltages are preprogrammed into the software.

2. Standard Package: BBAS.ID, BBAS.Convert, and Consulting

Price: $6,000

A. Standard Version of BBAS.ID

Same functionality as the Basic Version of BBAS.ID described above, plus the following:
  • Supports User Specified Find and Delete
Ask the software to Find or Delete events on a user specified set of channels for a user specified period within a digitized data file
  • Supports Partial Event Editing
Allows limited editing of events when viewing the data at a different sampling interval than the actual sampling interval in the data file.
  • Supports marking and editing of user specified text (Annotations) associated with individual points within a channel

B. BBAS.Convert

Same functionality as BBAS.Convert in the Basic Package described above.

C. Consulting

Purchase of the Standard Package includes 5 hours of consultation within 6 months of the original purchase date to help the user:
  • understand and use the software
  • understand and use the algorithms for detecting events
  • learn how to edit events, and
  • understand how the events can be further processed for statistical analysis and summarization
Further consulting is available at $150 per hour

3. Add-on Event Detection Algorithms

Add-on Event Detection Algorithms can be purchased after purchasing the Standard Package. These algorithms are available for $1,000 each. This purchase price includes 3 hours of consultation within 6 months of the purchase of the add-on to help the user understand and use the algorithm. Additional such consultation is available for $150 per hour.

The following Add-on Event Detection Algorithms are available:

  • Saccade Detection and Editing in channels of EOG and Camera-based data
  • R-wave Peak Detection and Editing in channels of ECG/EKG data
  • Dropout Detection and Editing
  • Saccade Style Event (SSE) Detection and Editing
  • This is a flexible event detection algorithm that can be used to detect a relatively large number of different types of events. However, to enable this level of flexibility, there are a large number of criteria to understand and configure.
In camera-based data, this algorithm has been used successfully to identify pupil diameter changes and minor head movements in addition to saccadic eye movements.

4. Custom Event Detection Algorithms

New Event Detection Algorithms can be created and incorporated into BBAS.ID to detect events of your interest. Pricing for this custom software development will depend upon the complexity of the necessary algorithm for detecting your events of interest.
