John A. Stern, PhD: President & Principal Research Scientist

Dr. Stern has been involved in psychophysiological research for more than 40 years. He has been involved in the measurement and analysis of components of eye gaze for more than 30 years. He is a professor emeritus in the Department of Psychology at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and chaired the department from 1987 to 1996.

Among the many honors Dr. Stern has earned during his career are the following:

  • President: Society for Psychophysiological Research
  • President: Pavlovian Society of America
  • President: Psychophysiologists Interested in Ergonomics
  • Member of numerous national advisory committees
  • Editorial responsibilities with scientific journals
  • Reviewer for a variety of scientific journals
He also has in excess of 190 published papers to his credit.

Dr Stern founded Bio-Behavior Analysis Systems in 2002 in order to continue, expand upon, and commercialize the results of his many years of psychophysiological and bio-behavioral research. His current focus is on the use of bio-behavioral measures that can be applied in the "real world".
